Hornsby MTB

Image
Hornsby mountain bike park Hornsby mountain bike park is a project built by the community for the enthusiastic bikers of all levels. Whether you are a beginner, intermedia or if you consider yourself a pro mountain biker. There is always a trail for you and a trail that challenges your skills. Getting to the park is a fairly easy task. All you need to do is catch the train to Hornsby train station and ride your bike for less than 5 minutes to get there. It's totally workable as well if you are all fancy and decide to drive your car with a couple tag along friends. On my map it says "Blue gum walk", but it's actually where the entrance to most trails are. There will be signs and maps at the location. Just look out for them. Atmosphere of the park The park is very pleasant to be in. You can meet a lot of other bikers and share your biking experience with them. They are mostly friendly as far as my experience goes. If you use apps like strava.com , you can co...

Busaco trail Having a rough day? Mountain biking is an effective and positive outlet to turn to when you are stressed out. It will bring adventure into your life, so forget about your responsibilities and get close to the nature on a mountain bike. One of the great thing about mountain biking is that you get to race through the beauty of the earth. Nature can make a person happier, less stressed and more energetic. Mountain bike is very suitable for poor uni students like me because most trails out there are free. Busaco trail by Darren Chang Location of the trail If you are interested in mountain biking, I strongly recommend you to try out Busaco trail. It's very beginner friendly and has great scenery. Paintball and bushwalk

Paintball experience Getting ready for paintball Paintball is a great activity for a one day event. It can be easily organised for a weekend or short Easter break. We booked for five people at the game zone 'London After the Apocalypse' at Appin, which is only about an hour and 10 minutes drive from Macquarie University. The game zone has three fields with different modes. The first one we did was 'saving the prime minister'. We had to escort our prime minister while our enemy tries to shoot him. The second game mode we played was just a regular 'death match' that you have probably played in CS or Overwatch. Since we were all poor university students, we couldn't not afford the cost for extra ammo, so we only had 100 paintballs each. It didn't last us until the third field. However, it was a great experience for us. You can find more information at:  http://www.paintballing.com.au/ Booking can be done at:  http://www.ipgau.com.au/  or call ...

Melbourne Zoo

Image
Tired of seemingly pointless uni? Can't handle the stress anymore? Maybe it's time to take a break and visit the lovely animals at Melbourne Zoo and escape from assignments for a bit. Be sure to bring your student ID because they offer student discounts. Lovely animals Meerkat There are many different kinds of animals. Meerkats are my favourite because they are always up to something, unlike other animals that just sit around and wait to be fed. It's just so entertaining to watch the meerkats running around. Merecats Flying caterpillars There is a butterfly farm in the zoo. For some reason, people seem to dislike it when flies or other insects on them, especially caterpillars. But interestingly, they seem to be fine with many butterflies resting on their head and shoulders. Hopefully they will realise that butterflies are basically caterpillars with wings.
